A map has been released providing a general representation of publicly available draft floodplain mapping for the Fillmore area. According to a notice on the city's website, the map is based on 2023 data and does not reflect current burn conditions.
The map provides an indication of potential areas of impact, which can assist in informing decisions and action plans intended to mitigate damage to public and personal property.
Officials noted that an area showing flooding is not a guarantee that flooding will occur. Similarly, the map is not a guarantee that no flooding will occur in areas that do not show flooding.
An update regarding current conditions will be provided once the fire is out and new evaluations can be made.
