The annual screening process typically involves students entering preschool, Kindergarten through 3rd grade, 7th grade, and 11th grade. Additionally, the screenings include students in special education programs, students new to the school or district, and students for whom parents or teachers have expressed concerns.
The procedure is described as a simple process that takes only a few minutes. If a student is absent or does not pass the initial screening, they will be rechecked at a later date, and parents will be notified if concerns persist.
The hearing screenings at Franklin are scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026. Parents who do not want their student to participate in the service must send a signed note with the student.
