Salt Lake City officials announced a new construction and major alteration project for Hillside Avenue on June 9, as several Utah municipalities continue to process various zoning amendments and community plan updates.
Hillside Avenue project details
The Salt Lake City Planning Division posted that the project at approximately 56 & 58 E Hillside Avenue involves new construction and major alterations. Additionally, the city is working to update its Central Community Plan, a process aimed at establishing a 15-year vision for the area that aligns with Plan Salt Lake.
Recent zoning and plan amendments
In May 2026, Salt Lake City also processed applications for zoning and general plan amendments at 567 E Warnock Ave, as well as a rezoning request for 1469 W. California Ave.
Other regional planning commission updates
Other local planning commissions are also managing long-term development reviews. The Paragonahtown Planning Commission released its agenda for a May 2026 public hearing and regular meeting, following previous sessions held earlier in the year.
In Wales, the Planning and Zoning Commission continues to review development proposals and land use applications during its regular meetings, which are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
