The Bluffdale Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. According to an Oct. 2 notice, the meeting will take place at Bluffdale City Hall, located at 2222 West 14400 South, and will be broadcast live on the city's website.
The agenda includes several legislative items requiring public hearing, consideration, and recommendation. One item involves a proposed General Plan Map Amendment for approximately 1.03 acres at 14595 South 1515 West to change the designation from Very Low Density Residential (VLDR) to Low Density Residential (LDR). Nathan Andersen is the applicant for this request, with Ellen Oakman serving as the staff presenter.
A second map amendment involves the same 1.03-acre property at 14595 South 1515 West. This proposal seeks to change the zoning from R-1 Residential to R-4 Residential with an Infill Overlay. This request is also being presented by staff member Ellen Oakman on behalf of applicant Nathan Andersen.
The commission will also consider a proposed text amendment regarding Energetic Materials Operations. This legislative action involves amending Chapter 11.20 of the Bluffdale City Code to create a new definition for these operations, enacting Section 11.160.330 to outline business requirements, and amending Section 11.350.020 to allow such operations as a permitted use in the Light Industrial (I-1) Zone. Zach Williams is the applicant for this matter, with Caitlyn Tubbs serving as the staff presenter.
The meeting will begin with a roll call, invocation, and the approval of minutes from the Sept. 16, 2026, Planning Commission meeting. Commission members may participate via telephone conference call. The city reserves the right to remove individuals or end virtual access if the meeting is disrupted by offensive remarks, pictures, or disrespectful actions.
Members of the public may comment during the meeting or by emailing comments to planningmeetingcomment@bluffdale.gov by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. The city noted that emailed comments will be submitted to the Commission but will not be read aloud during the session.
