The Covey Center for the Arts is launching a new official web address, Covey.Provo.Gov, according to a September 2 statement. This phased transition is intended to align the venue with Provo City policies, improve access to information, and strengthen the Center’s digital presence.
The change reflects the Center's role as a department of Provo City and establishes a clearer online identity. For many years, the venue operated under CoveyCenter.org, a web address that did not clearly indicate its connection to the City.
Covey Center Executive Director Stephen Pullen said the move to a .gov address reinforces that the Center is an official Provo City entity and provides patrons with greater confidence when purchasing tickets through authorized channels.
Using a .gov domain helps establish the Center's website as a definitive destination for exhibitions, classes, and event listings. This transition aims to help patrons identify official pages and avoid third-party resellers and scalpers that compete for search engine visibility.
The new web structure is designed to provide a more intuitive experience by separating the information website from the ticketing platform. While the primary website will be Covey.Provo.Gov, the online ticketing platform will eventually move to its own dedicated site at covey-tickets.provo.gov.
Patrons are encouraged to begin using Covey-Tickets.Provo.Gov immediately for ticket purchases. The migration will occur gradually over a four-month period, with CoveyCenter.org remaining active until its scheduled phase-out on January 1, 2027.
The Covey Center for the Arts hosts various community events, including live performances, theatrical productions, concerts, classes, and art exhibitions throughout the year.
