The Covey Center for the Arts is launching a new official web address, Covey.Provo.Gov, as part of a phased transition. The move is designed to better align the venue with Provo City policies, improve access to information, and strengthen the Center’s digital presence.
The change reflects the Covey Center’s role as a department of Provo City and establishes a clearer online identity. According to Covey Center Executive Director Stephen Pullen, moving to a .gov address reinforces that the Center is an official Provo City entity and provides patrons with greater confidence when purchasing tickets through authorized channels.
One challenge with the previous CoveyCenter.org domain was that patrons searching for performances could encounter third-party ticket resellers and scalpers. Because .gov domains are reserved for verified governmental entities, the new domain is intended to help establish the website as the definitive destination for event listings, classes, exhibitions, and ticketing resources.
The new web structure is designed to provide a more intuitive experience by separating information from transactions. While the primary Covey.Provo.Gov site will serve as the authoritative source for venue information, the online ticketing platform will eventually move to its own dedicated site at covey-tickets.provo.gov.
Patrons are encouraged to begin using Covey-Tickets.Provo.Gov immediately for ticket purchases and to update saved links. The migration will occur gradually over a four-month period, with CoveyCenter.org remaining active until its scheduled phase-out on January 1, 2027.
The Covey Center for the Arts hosts live performances, theatrical productions, concerts, classes, art exhibitions, and community events throughout the year.
