Rose Hill Hospitality House is hosting a community open house on July 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to demonstrate how the facility supports patients and families traveling for medical care. The event takes place during the week of July 20-24, which is recognized as National Healthcare Hospitality Week.
Located just minutes from Intermountain Health St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, the house provides a place for rest and comfort for those far from home.
The facility is situated a block away from Intermountain St. Mary’s Regional Hospital and the Cancer Centers of Colorado. It features 20 guest rooms equipped with private bathrooms, as well as shared kitchen, dining, and gathering areas.
Rose Hill serves families of patients receiving care, including those with loved ones in intensive care or in the neonatal intensive care unit. Since its opening in 1998, the house has expanded to support thousands of families annually, welcoming guests from 44 states and three countries.
In 2025, the hospitality house hosted 1,658 guests and provided 9,654 nights of rest. Hospitality house manager Jennie Mason stated that the organization exists to ensure no one faces care alone by providing a place where people can feel supported during difficult times.
The hospitality house operates seven days a week and relies on community support through the Intermountain Health Foundation. Donations of items such as pantry staples, linens, and towels help maintain operations.
While guests are asked for a suggested donation of $25 per night to help offset costs, the facility does not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay.
