The Salt Lake City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, to consider an ordinance that would vacate a city-owned alley, according to a September 1 notice.
The proposed action involves a City-owned alley located near 750 South Main Street, positioned between properties at approximately 750 and 778 South Main Street, 16 West 800 South, and 755 South Richards Street.
The alley, which measures approximately 8.25 feet wide by 248 feet long, covers about 2,042 square feet. If approved, the vacated alley would support the construction of an off-site parking structure intended to serve a future hospital.
The petitioner for this request is Chad Moynahan with Intermountain Health Services, Inc. The Planning Director has forwarded a positive recommendation regarding the petition, which is identified as number PLNPCM2026-00374.
The hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be held via electronic means and in person at Salt Lake City Hall, located at 451 South State Street, Room 315.
