Alpine School District is providing free summer meals for all children ages 18 and under, while the Richfield Library and Utah Valley University continue to offer specialized community programming and support services throughout the summer season.
Free summer meals available
Alpine School District announced that breakfast and lunch will be available at designated locations for all children 18 and under. The district also noted that adults may purchase breakfast for $3.00 and lunch for $5.00. In a separate advisory, the district reminded community members that fireworks are prohibited on all school district property due to elevated wildfire risks caused by summer drought conditions.
Richfield Library youth activities
The Richfield Library has scheduled a variety of free programs running from June 2 through July 31. Available activities for children include Art Club on Mondays, Summer in the Park on Tuesdays, Lego Club on Wednesdays, and Sensory Playtime on Fridays. The library also hosts specialized sessions such as STEM Club on Thursdays and 'Read with a Dog,' which features trained therapy dogs visiting every Friday.
Library programs for teens and adults
For older audiences, the Richfield Library offers a YLA Book Club for ages 11-16 on Tuesdays and Dungeons & Dragons sessions for teens on Thursdays. Adult programming includes 'Story Time for Moms' on Wednesdays and a weekly Game Night held on Thursday evenings.
Autism resources at UVU
Utah Valley University's Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism continues to offer resources aimed at improving the quality of life for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The center provides specialized programs such as 'The Passages Program' for adults seeking independence, the 'Wolverines Elevated Program' for young adults with intellectual disabilities, and professional training for first responders.
