Local youth explored various career options during an interactive Virtual Reality career exploration event hosted by the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce. The free event, held on July 15, 2026, was conducted in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services.
The program utilized Transfr Trek, a virtual reality career exploration tool designed to help participants discover potential career paths through interactive experiences.
The experience began with a career assessment that matched participants with occupations based on their specific interests. Following the assessment, youth explored different career fields through short virtual reality simulations.
These simulations provided a glimpse into real-world job tasks and workplace environments. Participants were able to explore careers in industries including healthcare, construction, technology, public safety, manufacturing, transportation, business, and agriculture.
The simulations introduced students to the skills, training, and responsibilities associated with a wide range of occupations.
For those unable to attend the July event, another Youth Career Exploration Event was scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, from 1 to 3 PM at the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.
