The Summit County Fair Fine Arts Exhibit began on August 6 in Park City, Utah. The event provided residents ranging from novices to professionals the opportunity to exhibit their craft in a public display for over 3,000 Fair visitors.
The exhibit included several categories such as oil or acrylic paintings, watercolor, sculpture in all media, graphic art, pottery, and metal. Other featured categories included hand-blown glass, ceramics, and various forms of printmaking like etching, block printing, and lithography.
Artwork submitted by adults and students in grades 9 through 12 was subject to judging. Awards for these groups included first, second, and third place, as well as Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice, and Best of Show. Students in grades K-8 received participation ribbons. Additionally, the Summit County Council selects one adult and one youth piece from the grades 9-12 category to be purchased for the County’s permanent public art collection.
The exhibit ran through August 8. Following the event, artwork was scheduled for pickup on August 11 at the Coalville Fairground Ledges Center.
