Eagle Mountain City Participates in Northern Utah County Transportation Study CommunityInfrastructure September 17, 2026 Save Eagle Mountain City hosted the first Stakeholder Working Group meeting for the Utah Department of Transportation’s (UDOT) Northern Utah County Planning and Environmental Linkage (PEL) Study. About the PEL Study UDOT, in partnership with the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), is conducting the study to develop a long-term transportation vision for Northern Utah County through 2055 and beyond. The study will evaluate transportation needs related to regional mobility, local and east-west connectivity, travel between communities surrounding Utah Lake, and multimodal transportation options. It also includes an initial assessment of a potential Utah Lake crossing. The PEL process is intended to help identify transportation improvements that could move forward toward corridor preservation, environmental review, design, and eventual construction. Eagle Mountain’s Role Eagle Mountain is one of the communities included in the study area. The City’s participation provides an opportunity to share local transportation needs and considerations as UDOT and regional partners evaluate alternatives for the future. The Stakeholder Working Group will continue meeting throughout the study process as transportation alternatives are developed and evaluated. The study’s current phase, Develop & Evaluate Transportation Alternatives, runs from September 2026 through April 2027. An implementation strategy is planned for May 2027 through June 2028.
