Nebo School District is celebrating its outstanding Elementary School Principals. Each year, these leaders honor their peers by voting for colleagues who exemplify excellence in several specific categories.
The district announced the following award recipients:
Angela Stoddard at Foothills Elementary was named Principal of the Year (NDP) for representing the district and community through leadership excellence. Jessica Ribble at Santaquin Elementary received the Rural Principal of the Year award for helping to improve student achievement in a school serving rural communities.
Melissa Jorgensen at Wilson Elementary earned Rookie of the Year, recognizing principals in their first three years. Jen Jolley at Salem Elementary was named Community Leader of the Year for involvement in outside community activities and bringing those activities into the school. Teresa Jordan at East Meadows Elementary received the Student Advocate Principal of the Year award for advocating for both individuals and groups of students.
Lori Nielsen at Westside Elementary was recognized as the Principal Mentor of the Year for effectively mentoring other principals. Amy Darrington at Cherry Creek Elementary earned the Instructional Leader of the Year award for improving student achievement through leadership with teachers, staff, and community. Brent Hogan at Barnett Elementary was named Innovator of the Year for pioneering or enhancing innovative programs or practices. Nicole Steiner at Maple Ridge Elementary received the Assistant Principal of the Year award for having a tremendous impact on students and their school community.
