The Provo area recorded the fastest percentage growth in total jobs among the nation's 150 largest metropolitan areas from 2015 to 2025, according to an analysis by economic development consulting firm Economic Leadership. Employment in the region grew by 41.3% over that ten-year period.
Provo Economic Development Director Cody Hill reported that 382 businesses launched in the city in 2025. The local economy is supported by a variety of contributors, including entrepreneurs, professionals, skilled workers in construction and industry, and employees in the tourism and resident services sectors.
While a decade of strong job growth represents a milestone, the city remains focused on supporting businesses, preparing for future employment needs, and ensuring economic opportunity reaches residents across the community.
