The TooeLE City Police Department continues to manage more than 17,000 annual calls for service through a specialized organizational structure led by Chief Adrian Day, according to recent information from the city.
Department Personnel and Structure
The Tooele City Police Department is composed of 40 sworn officers and nine civilian employees. The department operates through three primary divisions: Patrol, Investigations, and Operational Support Services.
Primary Police Divisions Explained
The Patrol Division includes SWAT and animal hearings, while the Investigations Division manages special victims, property and major crimes, a task force, and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit. The Operational Support Services division handles evidence, records, and ordinance compliance.
Animal Control and Ordinance Compliance
The City of Tooele noted that its Animal Control and Ordinance Compliance division focuses on neighborhood integrity and property values by addressing complaints regarding dangerous or unsightly situations on private properties. The city also maintains a process for aggressive animal hearing applications, which must be filed within 30 days of impoundment.
