Heber City officials released a statement on September 11 advising residents to prepare for fall weather and seasonal maintenance tasks. The announcement noted that as the hottest days have passed, soils are no longer drying out as quickly as they did during the summer months.
The announcement suggested that lawns only require occasional watering at this time. As October begins, the entire sprinkler system can be completely shut off. To save thousands of gallons of water, officials recommend turning off the system soon rather than continuing to water unnecessarily.
Maintenance recommendations for the season include blowing out sprinkler zones and flushing drip zones.
The city encouraged residents to enjoy seasonal activities such as changing leaf colors, pumpkin spice, and apple cider.
