Tooele County officials have published the 2026 election schedule, detailing important deadlines for voters and candidates. The timeline covers upcoming dates for the June Primary Election and the General Election later in the year.
June Primary Election Deadlines
For the June Primary Election, the last day to withdraw a candidacy to be removed from the ballot was May 7. UOCAVA ballots were transmitted on May 8.
Mail-in Ballots and Equipment Testing
Vote-by-mail ballots were scheduled to be mailed on June 2. The county advised voters who do not receive their ballots by June 5 to contact the clerk's office. A public test and demonstration of election equipment, known as Logic and Accuracy Testing, was scheduled for May 28 at 12pm at the Clerk's Office.
Primary Registration and Early Voting
The voter registration deadline for the primary was June 12. Early voting in-person at the Clerk's Office was set for the period of June 16 to June 19, from 9am to 4:30pm each day. The last day to request a replacement ballot was June 16.
Primary Election Day Procedures
Election Day for the primary is June 23, with all ballots required to be received in office by 8pm. In-person polling locations and ballot drop boxes will remain open until 8pm on that day.
General Election Key Milestones
The schedule for the General Election includes several upcoming milestones. The last day to withdraw a candidacy for removal from the printed ballot is September 17, followed by UOCAVA ballot mailing on September 18.
General Election Testing and Mailings
Logic and Accuracy Testing for the general election is scheduled for October 8 at 12pm. Vote-by-mail ballots are set to be mailed on October 13, with a notice for voters to contact the office if ballots are not received by October 16.
Key deadlines for the general election include a voter registration deadline of October 23 and an in-person early voting period from October 26 to October 30 at the Clerk's Office between 9am and 4:30pm. The last day to request a replacement ballot by mail is October 27.
On November 3, which is Election Day, all ballots must be received in office by 8pm. Most ballot drop boxes and vote centers will stay open until 8pm. Following the election, a public audit will be performed at a time to be determined.
The county noted that the schedule of elections is preliminary and subject to change, with a final schedule expected following the current legislative session. Additionally, voters who are eligible but not registered may vote provisionally in person at a vote center during early voting or on Election Day.
