The Orem City Council scheduled a meeting for September 22, 2026, according to a September 21 report. The meeting is set to include a 3:00 P.M. work session followed by a 6:00 P.M. regular session at 56 North State Street.
The work session includes several presentations. Chris Tschirki, Public Works Executive Director, is scheduled to present on the Tiger Traffic Team and speed limits. Brandon C. Nelson, Chief Financial Officer, will present on amending Section 21-1-3 regarding water connection requirements. Jennica Jones, Strategy and Innovation Director, is scheduled to discuss partner cities, and D. Jacob Summers, Deputy City Attorney, will lead a discussion on short term rentals.
The regular session includes presentations for a Youth Council introduction and swearing in by Jennica Jones and Sydney Wong, a Day of Service report by Pete Wolfley and Bradley Day, and a Companies Championing Women Award presentation by Heather Cox. Additionally, a public hearing is scheduled regarding an ordinance to amend Article 22-6 of the Orem City Code to establish regulations for permitting detached accessory dwelling units on single-family properties, presented by Planning Director Jared Hall.
Consent items for the meeting include the approval of meeting minutes from September 8, 2026. The council will consider appointments for the Cultural Arts Advisory Commission and the Library Advisory Commission. Also on the agenda is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign agreements between central Utah 911 and the City of Orem for public safety dispatch services, and an ordinance to amend section 21-1-3 of the Orem City Code regarding water connection requirements.
