As summer approaches across Utah, Alpine School District has issued warnings regarding fireworks use due to elevated wildfire risks, while the Santa Clara City Council prepares to discuss municipal funding and land management at an upcoming work meeting scheduled for June 24.
Fireworks Ban and Fire Safety
The Alpine School District reminded community members that fireworks are prohibited on all school district property. According to recent communications from the district, drought conditions and elevated wildfire risks across Utah necessitate responsible celebrations during the upcoming Independence Day and Pioneer Day holidays to protect schools and surrounding open spaces.
Highland Elementary Water Restrictions
This safety advisory was shared in recent updates from both Highland Elementary and Dan Peterson School. At Highland Elementary, officials noted that water restrictions stemming from low winter snowpack had previously led the Lone Peak Fire Department to cancel its annual water spray event.
Santa Clara City Council Meeting
In Santa Columbia, the City Council has scheduled a work meeting for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. The agenda includes a discussion regarding a Memorandum of Understanding with Utah Tech for PEG channel funding, presented by Shawn Denevan.

Highland Elementary End-of-Year Awards
