Fire Chief Brandon Thueson urged residents to exercise caution as the city prepared for increased activity during the annual celebrations.
Fire Chief Emphasizes Responsibility
In a June 29, 2026, update from Brigham City Public Power, the city confirmed that no changes were anywhere made to the existing fireworks-restricted areas for the current year. The boundaries for these prohibited zones remained identical to those established in previous years, with a map of all restricted locations maintained on the official city website.
Brigham City Fire Chief Brandon Thueson emphasized the importance of individual accountability during the holiday period. "Everyone is personally responsible for their actions, and we encourage each person to make the best decision they can regarding firework use this year," Thueson said, according to the city's announcement.
Permitted Discharge Windows
To manage the risks associated with holiday celebrations, the Brigham City Fire Department planned to deploy extra personnel during the specific days and times when fireworks discharge is permitted. This increased presence was intended to monitor compliance with local ordinances and respond to potential fire hazards.
The city's regulations for personal fireworks use include strict time windows. For the 2026 season, residents were permitted to discharge personal fireworks between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. from July 2 through July 5, as well as during a secondary window from July 22 through July 25.
Midnight Extensions for Holidays
The city provided specific exceptions to the standard 11 p.m. curfew for the most significant holiday dates. On both July 4 and July 24, the permitted time for discharging fireworks was extended until midnight.
While these extensions allow for later celebrations on the Fourth of July and the 24th, the city reiterated that all other restrictions regarding prohibited zones remain in full effect regardless of the time of night.

Residents seeking to verify where they can legally discharge fireworks were directed to the Brigham City website. The city continues to rely on its established map of fire restrictions to prevent accidental ignitions in high-risk areas during the summer months.
