Brigham City is proposing an increase in property tax revenue, according to a notice of proposed tax increase.
If the proposed budget is approved, the city would receive an additional $184,843 in property tax revenue per year. This would represent a 4.81% increase in the city's budgeted property tax revenue above last year's revenue, excluding eligible new growth.
Under the proposal, the tax on a $400,000 residence would increase from $382.80 to $401.28, a yearly increase of $18.48.
For a $400,000 business, the tax would increase from $696.00 to $729.60, representing a yearly increase of $33.60.
A public hearing was scheduled for Aug. 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 20 N Main Street in Brigham City.
Citizens had the option to participate in the hearing either in person or virtually. Instructions for virtual participation were to be made available on the city website no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
