The Box Elder County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, to consider several proposed zoning map amendments, according to a notice published Oct. 1. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Box Elder County Commission Chambers located in the Historic Courthouse at 01 South Main Street in Brigham City, Utah.
The hearing will address four specific petitions regarding land use in unincorporated Box Elder County. The first petition, Z26-022, requests a zone change for 183 acres from unzoned to General Industrial (M-G) near 8400 W 6800 N in the Elwood area. The second petition, Z26-023, seeks to rezone 74 acres from unzoned to Mining, Quarry, Sand & Gravel Excavation (MG-EX) near 14800 W Faust Valley Road in the Bothwell area.
Additional petitions include Z26-024, which requests to change 18 acres from unzoned to Rural Residential 1 acre lots (RR-1) near 17400 N 3600 W in the Fielding area. The final petition, Z26-025, involves a request to rezone 68.06 acres from unzoned to Mining, Quarry, Sand & Gravel Excavation (MG-EX) near 24000 N Frontage Road on the north side of Exit 12 in the Snowville area.
Interested parties may review copies of these petitions at the Box Elder County Community Development office, located in Room 34 of the Box Elder County Historic Courthouse, prior to the hearing.
