The Town of Cedar Fort is accepting applications for a Town Council Member position, according to a September 1 statement. The position is for the remainder of the current term, which is scheduled to end in January 2030.
Interested individuals must submit a letter expressing their desire to be considered for the position, along with any relevant skills and experience. Applications must be received by the Town on or before September 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Applicants are required to have resided in Cedar Fort for at least one year. The position is a volunteer role. Primary responsibilities include participation in council meetings, where members have the authority to make and second motions, participate in discussions, and vote on matters. Councilmembers also assist in establishing policies and programs for Town services, approving the annual financial plan and budget, setting property tax rates and user fees, and providing ordinances and regulations for the welfare of the Town.
The Town Council intends to act on applications during the September Town Council Meeting, which was scheduled for September 15, 2026, at the Cedar Fort Town Hall located at 50 East Center.
