The Riverton High School girls lacrosse season has begun with a strong start, as the team currently holds an undefeated record of 6-0. The Silverwolves are ranked first in both their region and the state following recent performances.
The team's recent success includes notable wins against Farmington, which won the state title last year, as well as victories over Olympus and Pleasant Grove.
Coaches Maddie and Hannah Kelleher have led the team through intensive preparation for the season. Key contributors to the current record include freshman Cara Erramouspe, who is averaging 3.3 goals per game, and senior Maggie Bird, who is averaging 2.2 assists per game.
Junior Suli Tafisi noted that the season has been awesome, mentioning the great chemistry among the players and the opportunity to play with friends.
This follows a successful previous season where the team finished with a 15-5 record, placed second in their region, and reached the state semifinals. Given their current momentum, the team appears to be a strong contender for a state title this year.
