The CERCUT Fairgrounds operates as a large-scale complex designed for both recreation and competition. The facility includes various amenities such as arenas, stalls, holding pens, and a motocross track.
Motocross track design and origin
The CERCUT Motocross track is a premier outdoor venue featuring a national style design intended to attract racers from across the western United States. According to motocross promoter Kenny Kirkwood, the track was planned and built by Dirt Wurks, which designs high-level competition tracks globally.
Major racing events hosted
The venue hosts significant racing events, including World Off-Road Championship (WORCS) races that draw approximately 900 professional racers from eight states. Additionally, Utah Sportsman Riders Association (USRA) races are held at the location, attracting between 600 and 800 regional racers.
Outdoor arena amenities and uses
The outdoor arena is equipped with a large grandstand, bleachers, and a PA and sound system to assist with event production. This space includes corrals for sorting stock and ticketed entry gates. The arena has previously hosted rodeos, fairs, and races.
RC Airport features and regulations
The fairgrounds also features an RC Airport with a 600 by 85 foot runway. Managed alongside Desert Wings, an RC club in Carbon County, the field supports various aircraft including electric park size planes, 1/3 scale gas planes, helicopters, jets, multi-rotors, and First Person View aircraft. The runway is plowed during the winter to allow for near year-round flight. Carbon County requires that users of the facility without an instructor be current members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) to ensure adherence to safety codes and insurance requirements.
