The Carbon High Dino Bands officially commenced their 2026 field show band camps on Monday, July 27, beginning a period of intensive musical and visual preparation for the upcoming season.
Summer Camp Schedule
According to an announcement from the Carbon High Dino Bands, the summer training program began with rookie day activities held at Castle Heights Elementary. The morning sessions for the camp were scheduled to run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the elementary school site.
Training Locations
Following the morning sessions at Castle Heights Elementary, the camp participants transitioned to the Carbon High School campus. During these afternoon periods, the program focus shifted toward musical instruction and rehearsal at the high school facilities.
Student Preparation Requirements
The organization issued specific preparation instructions for students attending the July 27 sessions. Participants were advised to bring essential items including instruments, sheet music, hats, and sunscreen, along with a significant supply of water to manage the summer heat.
Additionally, the Dino Bands emphasized the importance of footwear, instructing students to wear appropriate shoes every day of the camp to ensure safety during field work.
Percussion and Color Guard Training
The summer training schedule also includes dedicated sessions for specialized units. The percussion and color guard camps were scheduled to run from Monday, July 27, through Thursday, August 6.
