The Carbon County Family Support Center has announced an immediate opening for a part-time Program Outreach Specialist, according to a job posting published August 27.
The position is responsible for promoting child abuse prevention services and parent leadership by educating the community, developing community awareness events, and facilitating resource and referral activities.
The role consists of 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Key responsibilities include organizing community awareness events, managing social media platforms, and maintaining a resource and referral hub. The specialist will also promote parent leadership activities, administer surveys and assessments, and perform speaking engagements as needed.
The starting wage for the position is $15.45 per hour, which increases to $17.00 per hour after a six-month probationary period. The role is classified as non-exempt and does not include benefits.
Candidates for the position should ideally possess an Associate's Degree or a certificate in child development, child abuse prevention, or a related field. Applicants must maintain a valid Utah Driver's License and must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical, and drug test.
Required skills for the role include self-motivation, good communication skills, and the ability to build professional relationships. The position requires working both inside the center and outside, which may include activities such as playing with children or light yard work.
