Judge Don Torgerson continues his leadership within the Utah judiciary, currently serving as the Presiding Judge of the Seventh District Court. In addition to this role, he serves as the Chair of the Board of District Court Judges.
Appointed to the Seventh District Court in July 2018, Judge Torgerson manages judicial matters for Grand, Carbon, Emery, and San Juan counties. His responsibilities include presiding over the San Juan County Adult Treatment Court and acting as a statewide water judge.
Beyond his primary judicial duties, Torgerson is active in several legal committees and workgroups. He serves on the Board of District Court Judges, the Court's Technology Advisory Subcommittee, and the AI Legal Subcommittee. He is also a member of the District Court Judicial Weighted Caseload Workgroup and the Utah State Bar's Family Law Executive Committee.
