A boy riding an electric scooter was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Vineyard on Tuesday evening, according to a September 29 report from Gephardt Daily.
The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in Vineyard City as the child was crossing Center Street, located just west of Main Street. The child was transported by ambulance to Primary Children’s Hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office traffic investigation team was called to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation. Officials stated that the driver of the vehicle has been cooperative and that impairment does not appear to be a factor during the initial phase of the investigation.
Vineyard Mayor Zack Stratton requested that community members pray for the child and their family following the serious accident. Stratton also expressed gratitude for the first responders and medical professionals treating the child.
