The Providence City Council scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, August 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Providence City Office Building. According to an agenda posted August 14, the meeting will include several appointments and a discussion regarding a development rezone.
The council will consider approving the minutes from July 15, 2026. Additionally, the agenda includes a Just Serve Award Presentation. Two resolutions are scheduled for review: Resolution 08-2026 to appoint Crystal Howe to the Planning Commission and Resolution 09-2026 to appoint Justin McMurdie to the Planning Commission.
The council is set to review Ordinance 12-2026 regarding the Alder Farms Development Rezone. This request seeks to rezone parcels 02-090-0008, 02-090-0009, and 03-002-0016, located near 890 and 850 W 300 S and 515 S 850 W, from Life Cycle Residential to Mixed Use. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the rezone following a public hearing held on August 12th.
The meeting may include an executive session to discuss litigation, professional competence, or land acquisition and sale. Council members may attend the meeting electronically, and the session will be streamed on the Providence City YouTube channel.
