A motorcyclist was critically injured following a two-vehicle crash in Ogden on Tuesday afternoon, according to an Ogden City Police Department press release received Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred near the mouth of Ogden Canyon at the intersection of Canyon Road and Valley Drive around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Preliminary information indicates a 22-year-old woman was riding eastbound on Canyon Road when her motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning from Valley Drive onto westbound Canyon Road.
The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Following the crash, she was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The Weber Metro CRASH Team responded to the scene and is currently handling the investigation.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
In a statement, the Ogden City Police Department expressed hope for the recovery of the young woman and her family. Officials also expressed gratitude toward the medical staff and first responders who provided care.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
