Snow College announced Wednesday that Liana Kaitu'u has been named the assistant coach for the women's basketball team. Kaitu'u joins Michael Shreeve, who is beginning his first season at the helm of the program.
Previous Coaching Experience
Kaitu'u joins the coaching staff following her time as the assistant girls basketball coach at West High School during the 2025-26 season, where she helped the Panthers finish as the 5A State runner-up. Previously, she served in the same role at Judge Memorial Catholic High School during the 2024-25 season.
Educational Background and Playing Career
A native of Salt Lake City, Kaitu'u earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Portland in 2022 and a master's degree from Utah Valley University in 2024. Her collegiate playing career spanned from 2018 to 2024 at both UVU and Portland.
Collegiate Achievements with Pilots
While playing for the Pilots, Kaitu'u contributed to a West Coast Conference Championship in the 2019-2020 season and a National Tournament appearance in 2023.
High School Honors and Future Goals
Kaitu'u graduated from East High School in 2018, where she earned several honors including 5A MVP as a senior and helped the Leopards win the 2017-18 5A State Championship. Kaitu'u stated that she is looking forward to helping coach and develop the next generation of players and will begin preparing for the 2026-27 season immediately.
