Religious organizations at the University of Utah include the Latter-day Saint Student Association (LDSSA), established under the direction of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; the organization operates various committees to serve specific student demographics.
The LDSSA leadership team includes President Abbey Blair, alongside Vice Presidents Isaac McQueen, Gideon Kiphibane, and Eliza Stewart. The association maintains specialized committees focused on different student populations, including freshmen and transfers, returned missionaries, recent converts, student athletes, and members of Greek life. Other outreach efforts include interfaith initiatives, multicultural activities, sports tournaments, and choir programming.
Christian Fellowship Gatherings
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Utah is also preparing for its fall 2026 schedule. While specific small group offerings are expected to be updated in early August, the organization has announced that its weekly Large Group meetings will return on the first Thursday of the fall semester. These large group gatherings take place at 7 PM in the Social Behavioral Sciences Auditorium and consist of worship, teaching, and fellowship.
The InterVarsity staff at the University of Utah includes Team Leaders Kelly Robbins and Chasen Robbins, as well as Campus Staff Ministers Abby Barber and Liam Schenk. The organization is currently in a planning phase for its small group ministry, with updates regarding Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday groups expected to be released in early August to accommodate incoming freshmen, upperclassmen, international students, and graduate students.
Jewish Student Resources
Hillel for Utah provides specialized resources for the university's Jewish community, focusing on both student support and campus climate. As part of Hillel International’s Campus Climate Initiative (CCI), the University of Utah was included in an inaugural cohort, working toward improved religious accommodations and efforts to counter antisemitism on campus.
The organization serves as Utah's only Hillel and manages several community-building programs. These include the Jewish Inspiration Fund (JIF), a micro-grant fund sponsored by Hillel for Utah that allows students to apply for assistance with Judaica purchases, class fees, and conference costs once per academic year. Additionally, the organization provides resources for student mental health and connects students to pastoral care and religious services.
Campus Digital Integration
Student involvement in these religious communities is also facilitated through digital campus platforms. The University of Utah's Campus Connect system provides student community access for various organizations, including specific club identifiers used to manage student engagement and connectivity within the university ecosystem.
