New Incident Management Team Assigned
A Complex Incident Management Team from the Great Basin (GB Team 3) has been ordered to assume command, with an operational transition and in-briefing underway to exchange information between outgoing and incoming teams. Incident Commander Dan Dallas of the U.S. Forest Service is leading the effort, focusing on securing the perimeter near Eureka while protecting structures. No primary homes have been lost, though mandatory evacuations remain in place for the town of hundreds.
FFSL Coordination of Suppression Efforts
The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands (FFSL) plays a central role in managing the response on state and private lands outside city limits. FFSL coordinates suppression through county fire wardens and partners with federal agencies like the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, as well as local fire departments.
