IT’S HERE! Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is Coming to Wasatch County!
Free books. Delivered every month. From birth to age five.
The Wasatch Education Foundation is thrilled to announce that we have officially signed on as the local community partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Wasatch County, in partnership with Operation Literacy.
That means Wasatch County’s littlest readers can receive a FREE, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home every month from birth to age five — regardless of family income.
Because a love of reading can begin long before the first day of kindergarten.
Little Readers. Big Imaginations.
Founded by Dolly Parton in 1995, the Imagination Library was inspired by her father and her belief in the power of books to change a child’s life. The program has since grown into an international early-literacy movement, putting books directly into the hands and homes of young children.
And now, Wasatch is part of it.
The Wasatch Education Foundation will serve as the program’s official local community partner, helping connect Wasatch County families with this incredible opportunity.
Operation Literacy, a Utah nonprofit dedicated to children’s literacy, is partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to expand the program throughout Utah.
Operation Literacy will manage program administration, enrollment support, book fulfillment, customer service and reporting, while the Wasatch Education Foundation and our community partners focus on what we do best: connecting with Wasatch families and making sure they know this opportunity is available.
Why Wasatch Education Foundation?
Founded in 1997, the Wasatch Education Foundation is the official nonprofit education foundation supporting Wasatch County School District, its students, educators and schools.
For nearly 30 years, the Foundation has brought together schools, families, businesses, donors and community organizations to create opportunities for Wasatch students that extend beyond what traditional education funding can provide.
Bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Wasatch is a natural extension of that mission — and allows us to reach children years before they ever walk through our school doors.
We already serve many three- and four-year-olds through Wasatch County School District preschool programs and five-year-olds in kindergarten. Imagination Library allows our community to begin that connection even earlier — at birth.
Wasatch Joins a Growing Utah Effort
Operation Literacy is working to expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library throughout Utah, with the long-term goal of securing state support so children across Utah can have access to a free book every month from birth to age five.
Wasatch County's participation will not only benefit local families now — it will also help demonstrate the demand, community support and impact that can help move Utah toward statewide access.
And we want our entire community to be part of it. Because getting books into the hands of our youngest children isn't just a school initiative.
It's a community investment.
Here’s to little readers with big imaginations, families reading together, shelves filled with books — and a Wasatch community that shows up for its children.
