The Castle Valley Town Council conducted a hybrid meeting on June 10, 2026, which included a public hearing regarding the interim FY 2027 budget, according to meeting minutes.
The meeting, held at the Castle Valley Town Building and via Zoom, was called to order by Mayor Duncan at 6:30 PM.
During the public hearing for the interim FY 2027 budget, no public comments were provided. Mayor Duncan closed the hearing at 6:32 PM.
The council unanimously approved minutes from the Special MBA Meeting, a public hearing on the FY2026 second amended budget, and the regular town council meeting minutes from May 20, 2026.
Several executive reports were provided during the session. The Water Agent and Water Advisory Committee reported that updates to the Water Ordinance and Water User Agreement would be available soon. The Road Department, Planning & Land Use Commission, and EMS provided reports.
Regarding the Fire District, Chief Drake reported that the Fire Commission voted to deny the installation of a cell phone tower at Fire Station one. Additionally, Colleen Thompson provided a hardware proposal for computer and server upgrades for FY2027.
The council discussed and voted to adopt the 2026 General Plan Update following a motion by Council Member Hill and a second from Council Member Gibson. The motion passed unanimously.
In other administrative matters, officials noted that a groundskeeper was hired and scheduled to start the following week. The council also held discussion regarding Resolution 2026-5, which concerns approving the Property Tax Increase Impact Schedule.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Duncan and Council Members Gibson, Hill, and Holland. Other attendees included Dorje Honer, Colleen Thompson, Egmont Honer, Ron Drake, Greg Haliday, and the Llewellyns.
