Mudslides impact Provo neighborhoods
In Provo, a microburst of rain recently triggered significant mudslides near the Buckley Draw burn scar. The heavy rainfall caused thousands of pounds of debris to slide into a local church, burying the building in four feet of mud and covering nearby roadways.
Windstorms damage local golf course
The environmental impact of recent weather has also been felt at the Hobble Creek Golf Course. New video footage shows that a powerful windstorm uprooted trees and scattered debris throughout the property.
Wildfire risks and restrictions
Wildfire risks have prompted several administrative actions across the state. Three weeks ago, five different cities in Davis County implemented a ban on private fireworks through July 5 to mitigate heightened wildfire danger and ongoing fire conditions.

In Clearfield, fire crews from the North Davis Fire District worked to contain two brush fires along Interstate 15 near 200 South on a Friday afternoon approximately one month ago.
Meanwhile, Stockton Mayor Joe Johnston recently urged homeowners to maintain their properties following several recent fires in the area, emphasizing the importance of prevention.
Fire-related property destruction
Structural damage from fire remains a significant issue in various Utah municipalities. In West Jordan, an 11-month-old fire destroyed two homes and damaged a third in a local neighborhood.
In Ogden, crews with the Ogden City Fire Department responded to a fire at a row of townhouses under construction approximately 11 months ago, which resulted in at least one unit being destroyed.
