Robert Craig "Bob" Phillips, a farmer and contractor, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 82, according to a report published August 27.
Born on April 23, 1944, in Preston, Idaho, to Douglas James and Cora Pratt Griffeth Phillips, Robert was a skilled heavy equipment operator, welder, and restorer of antique tractors. He was married to Lorraine "Rainie" Rice in 2005; the pair were high school classmates who reconnected after more than 40 years.
Phillips was a dedicated farmer who expressed great pride in his vocation. He and his wife worked together on tasks such as cutting sagebrush and planting game habitat under the NRCS program, and they shared a passion for raising beef cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Rainie; his children, Jeff (Debbie) Phillips, Cheray (Bob) Weller, and Regan (Sharie) Phillips; five brothers, Clynn, Kevin, Galen, Dallin, and Rick; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Cora Phillips, his sister Myrna, and his brothers Clair and Wayne.
Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, August 28, including a visitation at the Moyle Community Center in Clifton from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and a graveside service at Clifton Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
