As summer activities transition toward back-to-school preparations, Utah school districts have established their start dates for the upcoming academic year. The schedules vary across the state, with different dates for various grade levels and districts.
In Emery County, all grades are scheduled to begin school on Aug. 19, though kindergarten students will attend on a half-day schedule.
Other districts have varying schedules. For example, the Alpine School District will begin classes for grades 1 through 12 on Aug. 19, while kindergarten starts on Aug. 25. In the Granite School District, elementary, junior high, and high schools begin on Aug. 12, with kindergarten starting Aug. 17.
Beaver County School District will see all grades return on Aug. 13. Meanwhile, Box Elder School District starts on Aug. 31 for all grades, which will be an early-out day for elementary students.
Cache County School District has set grades 1 through 12 to start on Aug. 25, with kindergarten following on Sept. 1. Canyons School District will begin elementary, junior high, and high school classes on Aug. 17, while kindergarten starts Aug. 19.
Carbon School District will begin all grades on Aug. 20. Daggett School District's first day is scheduled for Aug. 19. Davis School District begins on Aug. 20, with an early-out day for elementary students. Duchesne County School District will start on Aug. 20.
Garfield School District starts on Aug. 24. Grand County School District classes begin on Aug. 20. Iron County School District will start all grades on Aug. 12. Jordan School District will have high school classes begin on Aug. 18 and elementary/middle school classes on Aug. 19.
Juab School District begins on Aug. 19, with kindergarten on Aug. 21. Kane County School District starts all grades on Aug. 18. Logan City School District will start grades 1 through 12 on Aug. 19, with kindergarten on Aug. 26.
Millard School District classes start on Aug. 19. Morgan County School District begins all grades on Aug. 18, with preschool starting Aug. 25. Murray City School District will have seventh grade start on Aug. 14, while other grades except kindergarten start Aug. 17, and kindergarten starts Aug. 20.
Nebo School District begins on Aug. 18. North Sanpete and North Summit School Districts both start on Aug. 20. Ogden School District will begin classes on Aug. 21. Park City School District starts on Aug. 19.
Piute County School District begins its fall semester on Aug. 18. Provo City School District will start grades 1 through 12 on Aug. 19, with kindergarten on Aug. 26. Rich School District begins on Aug. 19. Salt Lake City School District starts all ages on Aug. 18.
San Juan School District begins on Aug. 17. Sevier School District will start grades 1 through 12 on Aug. 20, with kindergarten on Aug. 26. South Sanpete and South Summit School Districts both begin on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20 respectively.
Tintic School District starts on Aug. 18. Tooele County School District begins on Aug. 19. Uintah School District starts kindergarten through grade 12 on Aug. 19, with preschool starting Sept. 2. Wasatch County School District will have elementary and ninth-grade students start on Aug. 17, while other junior high and high school students start on Aug. 18. Kindergarten starts Aug. 24 and preschool starts Aug. 25. Washington County School District starts on Aug. 13. Wayne County School District will start all grades except kindergarten on Aug. 17, with kindergarten on Aug. 24. Weber School District will begin all classes on Aug. 24, which will be an early-out day for all students.
