Beaver City leaders announced the pressurized irrigation system would be available on a limited basis after destructive floods damaged the city's irrigation canal. The system is being supplied with a limited amount of well water, which city leaders stated is significantly more limited than the typical irrigation supply.
The update follows catastrophic floods that damaged property in Beaver, including the irrigation canal, cutting off access to the city's normal canal water supply.
City leaders said the irrigation system would be turned on starting Monday, with each of the city's five zones receiving water access one day a week. Two days each week are scheduled for recovering the water system.
According to city leaders, conservation is essential because the temporary water source is limited. Residents were urged to use water wisely and avoid watering during or after rain. Leaders noted that if excessive water is used, they will have to turn the system off.
The water schedule for the zones is as follows:
Zone 1: Monday
Zone 2: Tuesday
Wednesday: Recovery Day, no watering
Zone 3: Thursday
Zone 4: Friday
Zone 5: Saturday
Sunday: Recovery Day, no watering
