East Elementary students in Parowan will experience a change in their school routine during the final two weeks of the academic year. For the week of May 11-15, 2026, students will move to the Southern Utah University campus.
The school schedule for this period is expected to look different as students spend time at the university campus. This follows a period earlier in the spring where school was out for students from March 11-13, 2026, due to professional development for teachers.
In recent months, the Iron County School District Board of Education has been involved in several administrative discussions, including the approval of a traditional school year calendar for 2026-27 and reviews of boundary proposals. These boundary changes were considered in preparation for the opening of a new East Elementary building in the fall.
