Alpine School District announced its 2026 summer meals program will provide free breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18 from June 1 through June 26.
Available meal locations
The meal service will be available at several locations, including Cherry Hill Elementary, Forbes Elementary, Mount Mahogany Elementary, Mountain Trails Elementary, Orem Junior High, Westmore Elementary, and Windsor Elementary in Orem. The program also includes service at Mountain View High School in Eagle Mountain.
Pricing and daily schedules
While meals are free for children, the district will offer breakfast to adults for $3.00 and lunch for $5.00. At Forbes Elementary, breakfast is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., while lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Nutritional goals and federal funding
The Utah Child Nutrition Programs noted that such initiatives are designed to ensure children have $“heavenly” access to safe and nutritious foods, which is essential for establishing healthy eating patterns and academic achievement. These programs are part of federal food programs administered by the Food and Nutrition Service under the United States Department of Agriculture.
Summer menu highlights
The weekly menu features breakfast options such as mini French toast, pancakes on a stick, and breakfast pizza. Lunch offerings include corn dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken patty sandwiches, mini calzones, and orange chicken.
