South Salt Lake celebrated the conclusion of its 9th Annual Mural Fest on Aug. 1, 2026, marking a milestone for the city's street art collection with the addition of 11 new murals. The event brought the city's total number of public art installations to 90, moving the municipality closer to its ambitious goal of 100 total murals.

The organization noted that next year will mark a monumental 10th anniversary for the festival, at which point the city intends to hit its founding goal of completing 10 murals per year for a total of 100 installations.
Youth Involvement in Public Art
A key highlight of the 2026 installations involved local youth participation. The city completed two special pieces that featured community youth involvement, specifically located at Woodrow Wilson Elementary and the Central Park Community Center.
