A 12-year-old girl died Friday evening after becoming trapped in a burning side-by-side vehicle in Iron County. The incident, which involved a rollover and subsequent fire, occurred near the Valentine Peak Sports Complex.
The accident took place at approximately 6:49 p.m. at the Iron County Fairgrounds in Parowan. While the 12-year-old girl died in the fire, a 13-year-old girl was able to escape the vehicle but sustained injuries.
First responders were dispatched to the scene following the rollover and vehicle fire.
