Georgia moved to No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after defeating Alabama 20-17, according to an AFCA report published October 11, 2026. The victory marked Georgia's first win at Alabama since 2007.
The Bulldogs' defense played a critical role in the victory by holding the Crimson Tide to only 3 points in the second half and preventing them from scoring in the fourth quarter. Following the win, Alabama dropped to No. 7 in the rankings.
In other Top 10 action, Texas fell to No. 6 after losing to Oklahoma. Tate Sandell secured a 27-24 upset victory for the Sooners with a field goal as time expired.
Kentucky also moved up the rankings, rising to No. 17 after an overtime win against LSU, 35-34. LSU dropped to No. 21 following that matchup.
The current US LBM Coaches Poll top five includes Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami (Fla.), Indiana, and Ohio State. BYU is ranked No. 8 in the poll.
