Wildfire burns on hard-to-reach Fremont Island in Great Salt Lake
A new wildfire burning on Fremont Island in Utah's Great Salt Lake has grown to an estimated 60 acres, according to state wildfire officials (Utah Forestry, Fire and State Lands). The Fremont Fire was determined to have been started by lightning and was reported before noon on Wednesday.

Moab woman critically injured in apparent attempted murder-suicide shooting
Nelson died at the scene. Investigators said evidence collected at the home indicated Nelson likely shot the woman before taking his own life.
