Two men were arrested in Ogden after they allegedly ignited a firework in the middle of a busy intersection, causing an incendiary fragment to strike a vehicle. The incident occurred on Friday, July 3, when officers received reports that someone in a red BMW had thrown the firework and driven away.
According to an affidavit, another caller reported seeing the BMW traveling south from 12th Street toward Washington Boulevard. Officers located and stopped the driver, identified as Jayden Douglas Green, on the 300th block of 24th Street.
During the stop, officers observed numerous fireworks products in the rear seats, along with several firearms, including one revolver, two handguns, and a bolt-action rifle. A woman in the vehicle, identified as Green's girlfriend, told officers that while neither she nor the driver threw fireworks out of the window, she would not state if the rear passenger did.
Rowdy Milo Raymond, 20, was sitting in the rear passenger seat. While he initially refused to speak with officers, he eventually admitted to having the fireworks but declined to say what he did with them. The woman also stated the fireworks had been purchased in Wyoming the previous day.
Green was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief involving reckless endangerment of human life, a class A misdemeanor; buying or possessing tobacco or an e-cigarette; and a license plate location violation.
Raymond was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief involving reckless endangerment of human life, a class A misdemeanor; reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor; throwing lighted material from a vehicle, a class C misdemeanor; and breach of peace, a class C misdemeanor. Both men were transported to the Weber County Jail following their arrests during a period of high fire restrictions.
