Migrant mothers protested at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices in Baltimore on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to demand the removal of electronic monitoring devices. The demonstration was organized by Las Madres Unidas en la Lucha along with other immigrant rights organizations.
The protest occurred in front of the George H. Fallon federal building at Hopkins Plaza. The women reported that the electronic monitoring devices, which were placed on them as a condition of their release following previous arrests in Maryland, have caused difficulties beyond their immigration processes.
Some participants stated they have lost their jobs or faced discrimination due to wearing the devices. The women emphasized that they have not committed crimes and some have pending political asylum requests.
During the protest, the women intended to deliver a letter to ICE officials detailing their concerns and immigration status. However, demonstrators claimed that ICE agents did not receive the letters because staff informed them the offices were already closed and no officials were available to receive the documentation.
Accompanying organizations called for federal authorities to listen to the women's concerns and review the conditions of their electronic monitoring. It has not been publicly reported whether ICE will evaluate the requests or modify supervision conditions for the protesters.
