A Brigham Young University math professor is receiving three years of probation for sending sexual images to an individual he believed was a minor, according to a report published August 18.
Stephen Henry McKean pleaded guilty to distributing harmful materials to a minor and one count of enticing a minor as part of a plea deal.
The incident was the result of a sting operation. McKean believed he was communicating with a 17-year-old girl, but he was instead messaging investigators from the state of Utah and Box Elder County.
The case was reported in Springville, Utah.
