The third-ranked Utah Utes return to Rice-Eccles Stadium for a sold-out 10 a.m. game against seventh-ranked BYU. The matchup, which will be broadcast on ABC, serves as a Military Appreciation Day and an annual Red Out event.
Fans are encouraged to wear red for the Red Out celebration. During the Military Appreciation Day festivities, Utah Athletics will honor the U.S. armed forces with various tributes and recognitions throughout the game.
To participate in a first-quarter break light show, fans can select the Utes Light Show option in the Utah 360 app dropdown menu. The stadium will host pregame festivities, including a performance by the Pride of Utah, the University of Utah Marching Band, before the team's run-out onto the field.
The stadium will feature several amenities and policies for the event. Rice-Eccles Stadium operates under a clear-bag policy, allowing only clear bags up to 12x18 inches or small clutch bags no larger than 6.5x4.5 inches. One factory-sealed water bottle of 1 liter or less per person is permitted.
Concessions will be cashless, accepting credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Wallet. Fans can also use the Utah 360 app to order food and drink for express pickup. Two lactation pods are available on the west and east concourses, and four phone charging locations have been added to the concourse.
Special parking hours are in effect for the early kickoff. The Guardsman Way Tailgate Lot (Lot 40), East Stadium Tailgate Lot (Lot 9), and the Guardsman Way Pit parking will open at 9 p.m. Friday for tailgate permit-holders. The tailgate lots in the Salt Lake City Sports Complex and baseball stadium area will open at 11 p.m. Friday. All other parking lots open at 5 a.m. on Saturday.
Guardsman Way will be closed to through traffic starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. For those using public transit, UTA buses, TRAX, and FrontRunner trains are free for ticket holders who display a valid game ticket.
This game represents Utah's 101st consecutive sellout, a streak that dates back to 2010. The Utes currently hold an 8-0 record and a 5-0 record in the Big 12, while BYU holds a 7-1 record and a 4-1 record in the Big 12.
